With so much going on in the busy working lives of local business-people - whether it’s a matter of hunting for business that is scarce, or ensuring that customers are kept happy during busier times – it’s hardly surprising that input into activities such as the Young Entrepreneurs’ Club (YEC) can sometimes get passed over.
But YEC is not so much about ‘doing your bit for the community’ as much as realising the potential benefits that could be forthcoming by harnessing the fresh, untarnished thinking and creativity of our young people. YEC is all about mutual benefit - for the businesses and organisations taking part as much as the young people involved. Our activities are meant to deliver short-term gain, with young people receiving immediate and tangible benefits at the beginning of their career paths, plus far-reaching, longer-term benefits as more astute, broader-thinking individuals then bring their skills to the workforce and business community.
Our young people are one of the keys to our future, and it is how we respond to their needs and their innate potential now that will partly determine their future and contribution and worth to our society.
